That is part of why family portraiture matters to me. The people in the photograph will change. The value of having that version of them preserved only grows.

You do not need to know how to coordinate everyone’s wardrobe, pose your family, find your most flattering angle, or somehow get several generations looking relaxed at exactly the same moment.
That is my role.
I guide the portrait experience from planning through finished artwork. Depending on the session, that can include wardrobe guidance, access to my curated client closet, professional hair and makeup, and hands-on posing and facial expression coaching.
I am paying attention to posture, hands, body angles, connection, and expression so you can spend less time wondering what to do and more time simply being with the people you came to photograph.

Some families come to preserve a pregnancy or a new baby. Others bring grown children, grandparents, or several generations together because everyone being in the same place has become an occasion of its own.

A beautiful family portrait should feel intentional without losing the people inside it.
I will refine posture, arrange the composition, guide hands, and make small adjustments that create a polished finished image. At the same time, I am watching for the expressions and relationships that cannot really be manufactured.
The way a child reaches for a parent. The look between grandparents and grandchildren. The sibling dynamic everyone in the family recognizes immediately.
Those details matter just as much as beautiful light.
For multi-generational families especially, I also create different groupings during the session so the final collection can include the entire family as well as smaller relationships that deserve photographs of their own.

A Little About Georgetown
Georgetown has grown rapidly, but it still has a strong sense of place. The historic downtown district, established neighborhoods near the center of town, newer residential communities spreading west and north, and the San Gabriel River corridor give different parts of the city noticeably different personalities.
The city maintains a network of trails around the San Gabriel River, including the San Gabriel Park Loop and San Gabriel River Trail.
Downtown also retains formally recognized historic areas, including the Downtown Overlay and Old Town Overlay districts.
That combination of older Georgetown and newer growth is one reason the city works so naturally for family-focused portraiture. Some families are just beginning their story here, while others have several generations close enough to actually gather for the photograph.

Georgetown Maternity Photography
Pregnancy is the beginning of a family chapter that changes almost everything after it.
My maternity portrait sessions are designed to preserve that transition in a way that feels graceful, confident, and entirely guided.
You do not need to arrive knowing which gown works best, how to position your body, or what to do with your hands. I guide posing, posture, movement, and facial expression throughout the session.
Professional hair and makeup and access to my curated client wardrobe can also be part of the experience. Partners and children are welcome when you want the portraits to document not only the pregnancy, but the family waiting for this baby.

Georgetown Newborn Photography
The newborn stage is brief, intense, and difficult to understand while you are in the middle of it.
Those tiny details that feel completely ordinary during the first weeks become surprisingly difficult to remember later.
My newborn portrait experience is intentionally slower, with a strong emphasis on safe posing and careful handling. I photograph the baby alone as well as with parents and siblings when families want the complete story of this new chapter.
I also guide parents through posing and expression. You do not need to feel rested, camera-ready, or particularly certain of what you are doing. New parenthood rarely provides any of those luxuries.

Georgetown ISD and School Zones
Georgetown Independent School District serves more than 13,800 students across Georgetown, including elementary, middle, and high school campuses.
Families should not assume a particular school based only on the neighborhood name. Georgetown ISD assigns campuses according to the home’s address and provides an address-based attendance zone locator for families to confirm their assigned schools.
That is particularly important right now because Georgetown continues to grow and the district is adjusting attendance zones as new campuses open. Georgetown ISD adopted new zoning for the 2026-2027 school year and already has additional schools scheduled to open in 2027.
Georgetown High School and East View High School both serve GISD students, but high school assignment is also determined by the family’s specific address rather than a simple citywide feeder pattern.
Multi-Generational Portraits in Georgetown
Some photographs become important because they are beautiful. Others become important because eventually they are impossible to recreate.
That is especially true when grandparents and extended family are included.
A multi-generational portrait can begin as something created for the grandparents’ home and eventually become one of the few photographs everyone in the family wants a copy of.
I plan these sessions carefully so we create the full family portrait as well as smaller combinations: grandparents with grandchildren, adult siblings, parents with their children, couples, and other relationships that may not have been professionally photographed together in years.
The experience remains guided throughout so even a larger family group does not have to organize itself in front of the camera.
Portraits Designed to Outlive the Session
I believe portraits deserve a life beyond a digital gallery.
The images we create can become custom wall artwork, albums, and heirloom pieces designed to remain visible in your home and eventually move through the family.
That matters particularly with family portraiture because the meaning of the photograph changes as the people inside it do.
The toddler becomes an adult. The maternity portrait becomes a photograph your child sees of you waiting for them. The grandparents who felt so ordinary and present become the people everyone wishes they had photographed more.
That is when the investment in creating the portrait becomes difficult to measure at all.
